Fashion Friday – Paris Street Style

Comfort and style meet chic

This past week was Paris Fashion Week.  I was thinking about all of the fun street outfits that you can see during Fashion Week and all of the interesting people and celebrities.  I have been lucky enough to be in Paris a few times when work and fun overlapped a few days with the hustle and bustle of Fashion Week. It is truly a lovely assault on the senses!

I think if I had been in Paris last week, I would have opted for an outfit like the one above.  Comfortable, warm enough and with an easy, understated vibe.  I have trolled the internet looking at what women were wearing and have seen some more adventurous outfits, more trendy and haute couture (generally on a beautiful and chic twenty something) – I love the look but for me these days, trekking around the city of lights I want comfort, practicality and understated fashion.  I DO NOT want to look like I just walked out of a Chico’s – I want style and élan with ease and comfort – In short, I want to look like those amazing French woman who look terrific while just buying groceries! Effortless and innate style seems to be in the French DNA.  We might have to fight our own DNA and the “mall fashion” that surrounds us, but we can get the French, effortlessly chic look too.
